Omegle com is officially closed, no longer accessible ! – The founder of the site announced the closure of the service, which was released in 2009.

Omegle is a free online chat site, which connects users randomly and anonymously. Omegle was founded by Leif K-Brooks, when the founder was 18 years old.

The following is a message from Leif K-Brooks,

I launched Omegle when I was 18, and still living with my parents. If the Internet is the embodiment of the “global village,” Omegle is intended as a way to wander through that village, striking up conversations with the people you meet along the way.

I didn’t know what to expect when I launched Omegle. Does anyone care about a Web site created by an 18-year-old in his bedroom at his parents’ house in Vermont, with no marketing budget?

But the app became popular almost immediately after its launch, and grew organically from there, reaching millions of users every day.

I believe this has something to do with meeting new people which is a basic human need, and Omegle is one of the best ways to fulfill this need. As the saying goes: “If you build a better mousetrap, the world will beat a path to your door.”

Unfortunately, what is right does not always win. While I wish things were different, the stress and expense of this fight – coupled with the stress and expense of operating Omegle, and fighting its abuse – is simply too much.

Omegle’s operations were no longer sustainable, both financially and psychologically. Honestly, I don’t want to have a heart attack in my 30s.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who uses Omegle for positive purposes, and to everyone who contributes to the success of this site in any way. I’m sorry because I can’t keep fighting for you.
