How to Send Photos or Videos Block Screenshots on WhatsApp – WhatsApp has released the View Once feature which can remove photos and videos from chats after opening on August 3, 2021. Now WhatsApp is adding the ability to prevent recipients from taking screenshots, the ability to block screenshots for One View messages as added protection.

  • Open the WhatsApp app on Android or iOS.
  • Select the contact to send the chat.
  • Tap the camera icon in the chat column section.
  • Select a photo or video.
  • Click the View Once icon in the form of the number 1 circle icon.

  • Then send a photo or video.

Once the media is viewed, the media message will display an “opened” status.

  • The media will not be saved by the recipient.
  • After sending a photo or video once, you won’t be able to view it again.
  • When one-view media is enabled, you also cannot forward, save, star, or share photos or videos sent or received.
  • Can only see if the recipient has opened a photo or video once view if they turn on read reports.
  • If you don’t open the photo or video within 14 days of sending, the media will expire from the chat.
  • You must enable one-view media each time you want to send a one-view photo or video.
  • One-time view media can be restored from a backup if the message was not opened at the time the backup was performed.
  • If the photo or video is already opened, the media will not be included in the backup and cannot be restored.
