KingdomTaurusNews.com – Several Telegram clone applications available on Play Store have been installed more than 60,000 times, infecting users with spyware.
The app was discovered by Kaspersky, and when it was launched, the app was no different from the original Telegram.
They found a package called com.wsys, indicating that this code snippet was meant to gain access to the user’s contacts. It seems suspicious, considering the package is not part of the messenger’s standard feature set, Kaspersky said in its report.

Apart from that, they also found other suspicious code that was not present in the original version. Kaspersky says to be wary of third-party messenger mods, even those distributed by Google Play.
When they reported the apps to Google, there were still some apps still available for download.
